Poo-free prep

June 5, 2012

So becoming ‘poo-free’ as all the cool kids call it these days (that’s shampoo free if you’re uncool like me) was inspired by these two blogs here and here.

This are a range of methods recommended and I’m going to loosely follow this one here. (Mainly because I’m too chicken to go cold turkey.)

Ingredients needed for regular wash:

Baking soda – about 2 tablespoons per cup of water. About two cups per wash

Apple cider vinegar – 1 tablespoon per cup of water. About one cup per wash. (This is when you could add something that smells nice)

Ingredients needed for extra strong wash:

Egg – Honestly. Apparently it works

Method of becoming shampoo-free:

Stop using shampoo and conditioner

Extend the time period between washes.

That’s it.

Now, I’m planning to wash my hair this way tomorrow (eek!) and thanks to my buddy I now have apple cider vinegar. I wonder how it will turn out….
